Legal Disclaimer
NSAHelper is a free, open-source software utility that automates the drafting of standardized form letters relating to the federal No Surprises Act (42 U.S.C. § 300gg-111 et seq.) and certain state surprise-billing statutes. It is published for informational and educational purposes only.
Not legal advice.
NSAHelper does not provide legal advice. The letters produced by this tool are templates populated with the information you supply. They are not a substitute for the independent professional judgment of a licensed attorney admitted to practice in your jurisdiction. NSAHelper, its authors, and its contributors are not your lawyers. Use of this tool does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no communication you have with this software is protected by attorney-client privilege.
No warranty.
NSAHelper is provided "AS IS" under the MIT license, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The authors make no representation that any letter generated by this tool will produce a particular outcome, will be free from errors, or will be accepted by any specific provider, insurer, or government agency.
Consult a licensed attorney.
If you are unsure whether the No Surprises Act applies to your bill, whether your state has additional protections, or how to proceed if a provider or insurer refuses to comply, you should consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Many state bar associations operate lawyer-referral services. Some patients may also qualify for free assistance through legal-aid organizations.
No data retention.
NSAHelper does not persist your form input or generated letters after a session ends. Letters are rendered to PDF, returned to your browser, and then discarded server-side.
Trademarks and citations.
All statutory citations are provided in good faith and were accurate as of the most recent build of this tool. Statutes can change. Do not rely on any citation in a generated letter without independent verification. Mention of any agency, statute, or trademark is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement.
